Topping this incredible list are none other than visionary director Mamoru Oshii, the mind behind the cyberpunk masterpiece Ghost in the Shell, and the legendary Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, whose character designs and direction defined the original Mobile Suit Gundam for generations!
The honors don't stop with just two of the greatest to ever do it. The Anime Industry category also recognizes Takayuki Matsutani, the current president of the iconic Tezuka Productions. In the Voice Actor category, the one-and-only Mami Koyama is being celebrated for her incredible career, lending her voice to unforgettable characters like Arale in Dr. Slump and Balalaika in Black Lagoon. And for manga fans, this is a huge moment, as pioneering shōjo artist Keiko Takemiya (To Terra..., Kaze to Ki no Uta) is also receiving a well-deserved award for her groundbreaking work.
